PUBLISHING

If you’re an independent music creator, sometimes it can be difficult to know where to start.

There are so many services popping up online that can assist you to do almost everything yourself. Each provide different value from getting your songs up onto iTunes and streaming providers, to websites who claim put your music forward for opportunities in TV, Film and Commercials for a small fee or subscription (by the way, please back away from any "provider" that requests money for your music to be heard)

Its true! now you CAN do a lot of it yourself… but there are still TWO things that are missing from this equation.

  1. You’re still missing the “ACCESS” to the industry part of the equation. A Publisher has established relationships with a network of all kinds of music industry professionals. A network that takes years to build and one that you want to be tapping into.

  2. If you're being honest with yourself... the whole reason you got into music probably wasn't to do admin, filling out reports, checking the details of licenses and chasing up payments. That's a full time job in itself. Even if you're quite the saavy business person, there's only so much you can do by yourself before you can't progress further without help. Every minute you spend on admin is a minute taken away from you being creative… so you need to weigh up the pro’s and con’s for your situation.
